I haven't written any fanfiction in forever, andwhen I do, I right GEN? WTF? Has the world gone so insane that I'm actually writing not only GEN, but HET?

Anyhoo, this is a Lily Evans Potter fic! She decided to be a drama queen and not leave my head until I wrote about her.

So, I did.

Here it is! Enjoy!

11 year old girls usually had thoughts of weddings and children, which was completely normal. They thought of frilly white dresses, cakes, and of course their own Prince Charming to sweep them off their feet. They also thought of babies and names, toys and sending their own kids off to school like their own mummies did.

So it was perfectly understandable for Lily Evans to dream of these things too. After all, she was a normal little girl, and she grew up on fairy tale stories of happy endings. She wanted to name her daughter something pretty and feminine; a flower name like her own. Her son would probably be names after his father, or maybe a family member. Her wedding dress would be creamy white, with bows and lace and red roses.

Yes, Lily Evans liked that she was a normal girl that thought of normal things. Until that one day, when she found out she was not quite normal.

A 13 year old Lily Evans walked through Hogsmeade with her friends. It was a fall day, and her first trip to an actual magical town. While walking down the main street, she noticed a formal dress robe shop filled with beautiful wedding robes. She remembered her 11 year old thoughts, and while some of her dreams seemed juvenile now (Pony-drawn carriages?), she still couldn’t wait till the day she walked down the aisle, with her wizard prince at her side.
She continued walking, until her group reached Honeydukes. The door was opened for her, and she looked to the person who opened it.

“Good afternoon Evans,” James Potter, arrogant and proud, said to her with his trademark wink and smile.

And all she offered was a meek thanks, and entered the shop.

16 year old Lily walked down the dark corridor during her prefect duties, and let her mind wander to those thoughts of weddings and children. Times were dangerous lately, with a dark wizard running loose; but lives still went on. People started families to show that He wouldn’t bring them down. She wanted the same, but it came to the point where she wondered if her Prince-Charming-Wizard-Future-Husband-Thingy even existed.
She rounded a corner, turning back to Gryffindor Tower, when she heard the muffled laughter from a closet. Her duty entailed her to check up upon this, and when she opened the door, she was faced with a beat red James Potter and his silly little map.

And she smiled, and left him off with a detention with whoever was free and a sleepy goodnight.

With her lace dress on, and her pretty red rose bouquet, an 18 year old Lily Evans made her way down the aisle of the church. Her smile never faltering, she kept her gaze on only one person in the room.

James Potter. Her very-soon-to-be husband.

It was finally her big day: the day with the flowers and lacy dress; with her friends and family staring at her with tears in their eyes. She was getting married, just like she always knew she would.

A 21 year old Lily Potter rocked her son to sleep when she heard the door slam open. She looked at her little boy in her arms, the perfect son who never cried and always could make her smile, and began to worry like she had never before.

They had been found.

She put little Harry in his crib, and heard her husband try to barter with that evil man for his life. She sensed the green flash, and knowing He was coming for them now. Lily’s thoughts were only on her son, and when Lord Voldemort broke down the nursery’s door and pointed his wand at her, she stood her ground. He told her she was foolish, and would let her live if she just moved out of the way. In the end, when he spoke those two terrible words at her, she knew that her little dreams from her 11 year old days meant something for her son.
